Dear Friends, HCT Family and Patrons,
As of today, Sunday, August 23, 2020, we have no future plans for re-opening the theatre in the next few months. The continuing questions as to when CAN we safely re-open and what show(s) can we safely and economically produce remains to be our biggest concern.
Large cast shows are definitely out, for now. Small casts, medium cast shows where actors can use social distancing blocking on stage, and radio plays are being considered.
Musicals are deemed not safe in performance for the participants and audience. Outdoors performances are a possibility, when the weather is cooler.
COVID-19 numbers remain high in the RGV right now. We want to be responsible for your health, as well as the health and safety of our volunteer actors and staff.
We have no definitive plans, or dates, to announce for re-opening the building at this time, but please know that we are busy behind the scenes working on ideas.
Your gracious donations are certainly appreciated and helping us get through these difficult times. We have had no income from ticket sales for almost six months.
The possibility of needing to close our doors permanently in the future is real. Donations are still being gratefully accepted.
We hope you understand our hesitation to re-open and will continue offering your support in any way you can. When we are able to safely re-open, we hope you will be ready to purchase tickets and come see a show.
See you at the theatre!
